La majorité de la population de zagora est rural ce qui signifie que la femme de zagora produit en parallèle de sont travail cotidien c'est le tissage des tapis et d'autres,pour la femme c'est montrer a son époux qu'il a une vrai femme traditionnel qui satisfait le besoin famillial,et d'un autre point aide son marie finacierement si l'a besoin de les commercialisés
La femme de la vallée du Draa ne portait que des bijoux en argent ou corail. L’or est apparu récemment. Les khors sont de larges boucles d’ oreilles décorées avec des anneaux de grande taille. Différents bracelets sont utilisés selon l’âge de la femme et la valeur de l’article. Abandonné maintenant car trop lourd, le dblej s’enfilait autour du poignet. Le N’bala est le bracelet des jeunes femmes fabriqué par le forgeron sur directives de la cliente. Il est plus épais, large de deux doigts et non fermé. Les bagues, khatem, sont souvent faites d’argent. Les colliers sont montés par les femmes elles-mêmes à partir d’éléments d’argent, de perles et de pierres précieuses ou semi-précieuses.
Objet de première utilité sous la tente des nomades, le tapis occupe toujours une place essentielle. Il s’agit d’une activité familiale très ancienne. La laine est une matière noble pour les Marocains. Le tapis symbolise la protection et le bonheur (si celui qui vous invite est pieds nus sur son tapis, faites de même). Les couleurs utilisées sont souvent le rouge, le vert et le bleu.

tamgroute , un ancienne ville vers le sahara

Tamegroute, cité du désert est un petit village nappé de jardins cerclés d'une terre couleur argile. C’est aussi et surtout le siège d’une des plus prestigieuses zaouïas d’Afrique du Nord. Sa medersa (école coranique), abrite une bibliothèque très riche, unique, gorgée de manuscrits anciens, des manuscrits vieux de neuf siècles, de précieux traités scientifiques, des ouvrages religieux datant de l'âge d'or andalou et des Corans enluminés.

Ce village, à la population berbère et arabe, est situé à 15 km de Zagora en direction deM’hamid.

Les poteries de Tamegroute, activité artisanale majeure de la vallée du Drâa et jouissant d’une renommée mondiale, sont fabriquées selon une lointaine technique importée de Fès.

Grâce à la maîtrise des secrets de la terre et du feu, les artisans potiers travaillent au tour qu’ils actionnent avec leurs pieds. Ils confectionnent ainsi les poteries qui une fois modelées sont mises à sécher au soleil et transforment cette terre en objets indispensables à la vie quotidienne (plats, tajines, marmites, assiettes, jarres…).

Les atelier de poteries

Vous trouverez des ateliers dans la ville même, et aux alentours. Les potiers extraient eux même leur argile dans des galeries souterraines, et préparent leur barbotine en la foulant au pied.

Les fours traditionnels, qui peuvent contenir jusqu'à 800 pièces sont chauffés avec des palmes et des buissons secs (alors qu'à Fès, on utilise les noyaux d'olives. Il faut environ une journée pour remplir soigneusement le four, en séparant bien les pièces pour qu'elles ne se collent pas. Une fois les portes hermétiquement fermées avec des pierres et de l'argile, la cuisson elle même prend environ quatre heures. Après une nuit de refroidissement, les pots avec leur belle couleur verte un peu irrégulière sont prêts.

La zaouïa Sidi Naceria

Une partie des bâtiments est ouverte aux non-musulmans, seulement à certaines heures (le matin et en fin d'après-midi) : il s'agit du sanctuaire extérieur et de la bibliothèque. Le reste (hôpital, école coranique) étant encore en service, il ne se visite pas.

La bibliothèque se présente comme une grande pièce avec des vitrines un peu poussiéreuses, où sont rangés les livres. Certains d'entre eux sont ouverts, et le gardien pourra vous accompagner en vous donnant quelques explications de base.

Les dunes de Tinfou

A 5 kms au Sud, sur la gauche se trouves quelques dunes isolées, c’est le site de Tinfou. Plus loin, en direction de M’Hamid, en passant par le village de Tagounite, un superbe point de vue au col de Tizi Beni Slimane.
